Alison has worked for over twenty years in the NHS across the North West, initially within catering services but moving across into Hotel Services in 1986 when this new role was starting to be developed.  Prior to joining the NHS, Alison was a restaurant manager for FW Woolworth in a number of large stores across the country.
Outside of work, Alison is an enthusiastic football supporter and a National Trust Volunteer.
Alison feels that the profile of Hotel Services within any hospital or clinic setting is linked to Patient Choice and Customer Satisfaction and that the Hotel Services Training Advisory Group has an important role in supporting the development of front line service staff.

Liz has worked for over 32 years in the NHS, and after completing the NHS Domestic Services Management Training Scheme, started her career in Domestic Services Management at Preston Royal Infirmary. She spent many years in this role and managed services at all the Preston Hospitals and Community Premises.
During her time in the NHS Liz has worked as a Human Resource Manager and later in Facilities Support.  After studying Facilities Management at Sheffield Hallam University she took up her present role as Trust Support Services Manager with responsibility for ‘rear of house services’. Liz is currently involved in the implementation of a Trust wide Receipt and Distribution Service.
Liz is a very people orientated person and strongly believes in the empowerment of staff. During her spare time she enjoys gardening, watercolour painting and narrowboating

Marion started her NHS career as National Trainee for Domestic Services with North Western Regional Health Authority working within the hospitals in Rochdale and also Prestwich Psychiatric Hospital. She has worked within various hospital units throughout the North West. In 1986 she moved to Chorley as Domestic Services Manager/District Advisor and with the merging of Chorley and Preston Acute, which became Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Marion became part of the Hotel Services Team continuing to be based at Chorley site managing Domestic and Accommodation services. Marion is a past Chairperson of the Hotel Services TAG a post which she held for a number of years. She is very interested in training and making sure that staff are given the opportunity to develop within the work place. She has, for over 32 years, been an active member of the professional body The Association of Domestic Management now the Association of Hospital Cleaning Professionals. Marion is an enthusiastic football supporter; she enjoys walking with her cocker spaniel, loves holidays and enjoying life to the full.

Yvonne is the Senior Site Services Manager for Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.  Yvonne manages the Hotel Services Departments within the Fylde Community Hospitals and premises.  She has worked in the Hotel Services Sector for many years, originally for the Blackpool Trust, however, moving out to the private sector in 1994 for 11 years.  In May 2005 Yvonne returned to the Blackpool Trust as Site Services Manager and in May 2006 took up her most recent post of Senior Site Services Manager and is currently enjoying working in such a diverse management role providing Operational Services across the Fylde Coast to patients, customers and clients.

Barry Rigg joined the NHS in 2002 after spending 5 years working for John Lewis Partnership and 5 years working for a National training provider looking after key account hospitality businesses, supporting the development of training funded by the LSC. Barry has supported a number of organisations in gaining their Investors in People recognition and has supported the catering services within The Morecambe Bay NHS Trust with their Investors in People application, assessment and reassessment.
Barry is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Management, The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and The Hospital Caterers Association and leads on Core Standards C15 from the Quality Care Commission.

Julie started her NHS career in 1979 as a North West Regional Management Trainee.
She worked at Wythenshawe Hospital and then spent several years in Wigan Health Authority as their Domestic Services Adviser. In more recent years Julie has worked across the whole range of Facilities services including Estates management. She is currently Facilities Manager with Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Lynn is the Linen Services Manager with East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. 
Her career in Linen services started as a North West Regional Linen Services Management Trainee.  After working as a Production Manager in the Laundry at Middlewood Hospital, Sheffield, she became Assistant Manager at Blackburn being promoted to Manager 20 years ago. 
As the current National Secretary of the Society of Hospital Linen Services and Laundry Managers, Lynn was involved in developing the recently published Good Practice Guide.

Paula started her career on leaving school as a transport clerk with Joseph Arnold & Co, during this time she continued with her education at night school and day release.  On leaving Joseph Arnold & Co she secured a position as transport clerk working her way up to supervisory level with Graham and Owen who where carriers for Electrolux & Flymo from where she was made redundant.
This started her career in the NHS, she started her NHS Career in 1998 working in Transport as a Senior administrator for Transport Services, continuing with her studies she obtained her CPC in National Road Haulage Operations qualifying her to hold the Operators Licence for the Trust and she was then successful in securing the post of Transport Manager for Burnley General Hospital.  In 2002 the Blackburn and the Burnley Trusts merged to form the current East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust and Paula was successful in securing the Transport Manager’s role across the two sites.  In 2007 the positions of Portering and Transport Manager were merged into one to become the Logistics Manager which is the position Paula currently holds.
Her outside interests are caravanning, walking, cycling, reading and socialising.
