THE FM ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2006

Two-day Residential Workshop

Entitled

EXPLORATION OF THE HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE AGENDA
“IMPLEMENTING LESSONS ALONG THE WAY”

held on

THURSDAY AND FRIDAY, 5TH AND 6TH OCTOBER 2006
at the SWAN HOTEL, NEWBY BRIDGE, CUMBRIA

Another successful Facilities Management Training Advisory Group Annual Conference was held in October 2006.

On the first day of the workshop, delegates enjoyed an excellent programme of speakers.  The day ended with a JOURNEY BACK THROUGH TIME, a return trip on the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway.  Despite torrential rain, the delegates travelled on a working steam locomotive on the steeply graded line running through the ever-changing lake and river scenery of the beautiful Level Valley.  The journey started at Haverthwaite Station to Lakeside at the southern end of Windermere with a 15-minute stop at Lakeside before commencing the return journey.

The second day was entitled VISIONS AND VALUES.  The vision was set out by Rob Smith, Head of Gateway Reviews and Director of Estates and Facilities Management, Department of Health and the delegates responded through MICHAEL GALLAGHER, Director of Facilities, Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Hospitals NHS Trust.

As always the face of the NHS continues to change.  Aligned with the governments drive for plurality, NSFs and financial balance there is also a drive to improve the general health, well-being and regeneration of the regions.  The future will bring with it closer working between health and social care at all levels.  Already important initiatives are underway across the country.  This conference sets out to explore what these changes will be and how Estates and Facilities Professionals can both engage and influence them.  What are the opportunities and how can they be used to advantage in the very challenging environment of the NHS?

The programme as always will be varied and will have both a policy and practical approach to the challenges ahead for all who work in health and social care.

The FM TAG Annual Conference is always very well attended.  The event provides the opportunity to spend two days away from office pressures, to be updated on current thinking and to network into the evening with friends and colleagues.

The cost of attending the TWO-DAY RESIDENTIAL WORKSHOP IS £305.00 per person.
