Hotel Services

present a two day residential workshop entitled

FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
RESPONDING TO THE NEW HEALTH CARE AGENDA

to be held on
Date: THURSDAY AND FRIDAY, 26th & 27th OCTOBER 2000

at the
Venue: LOW WOOD HOTEL, LAKE WINDERMERE, CUMBRIA

The next decade will bring significant changes in the way health care is delivered. New concepts have already emerged which are beginning to challenge established practice; there is now a commitment not only to provide health care services for those who are ill, but also to improve social and environmental conditions which, in the longer term, may reduce the demand upon the NHS. Information technology will revolutionise the delivery of health care in the next decade and many believe that smart cards, creating a life to death record, will become a common feature in the near future. Telemedicine and keyhole surgery procedures are already establish practices and these are likely to expand to meet the needs for a responsive and flexible service. Patients expectations will also rise and Healthcare organisations will be expected to provide a high quality cost effective service focused upon the needs and aspirations of service users. There will clearly be an important role for Facilities Managers in the new NHS irrespective of its future structure.

The objective of this workshop is to consider the implications of the new changes in healthcare for those involved in Facilities Management and to identify the optimum model for delivering non-clinical support services for those involved in Facilities Management and to identify the optimum model for delivering non-clinical support services in the future.

The workshop is aimed at Senior Managers at Director and Deputy/Assistant Director level working in Facilities, Estates and Hotel Services, and non clinical support services.

The cost of attending the two-day residential workshop is £225.00 per person. This includes attendance at the two-day workshop; course information; accommodation at the Low Wood Hotel in comfortably furnished single bedrooms with private en-suite facilities; full English breakfast, morning coffee and Danish pastries, 3 course hot/cold buffet lunch with coffee, afternoon tea with finger pastries.
