present a one-day conference on ENERGY CONSERVATIONto be held on in the Lecture Theatre, Wrightington Hall Conference Centre, Today's seminar covers the recent .STATUTORY AMENDMENTS TO THE BUILDING REGULATIONS IN RESPECT OF ENERGY CONSERVATION as well as, the requirements of the · CLIMATE CHANGE LEVY. Supporting these statutory requirements, the seminar will go on to discuss · ENERGY CONSERVATION MEASURES THAT CAN BE PRODUCED FROM THE USE OF COMBINED HEAT AND POWER INSTALLATIONS · THE USE OF ENERGY PRODUCED FROM THE DISPOSAL OF WASTE PRODUCTS and the · USE OF LIQUID PETROLEUM GAS FOR POWERING COMMERCIAL VEHICLES. THIS CONFERENCE WILL BE OF INTEREST TO PTB OFFICERS WORKING WITHIN ESTATES AND FACILITIES DEPARTMENTS AND OF PARTICULAR INTEREST TO ENERGY MANAGERS. The cost of attending the conference is £90.00 per person. This includes attendance at the conference, course handouts, coffee/tea on arrival, mid morning coffee/tea and biscuits, buffet luncheon and afternoon tea/coffee and biscuits. 3.30 pm Mid Afternoon Tea and Coffee Followed by Close of Conference ABOUT THE SPEAKERSCOLIN FITZPATRICKDirector of Facilities, Manchester Children's Hospitals NHS Trust and Chairman of the Estates Training Advisory Group Colin is Director of Facilities at Manchester Children's Hospital NHS Trust, and has been employed in the Health Services for over 30 years. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Builders and is the Chairman of the North West NHS Estates Training Advisory Group. Colin is also an active member of the Facilities Management TAG. JOHN R. HANCOCKOperations Director, BFH Incineration Ltd., Hope Hospital, Stott Lane, Salford, Manchester John Hancock is the Operations Director of BFH Incineration. John has been involved with the incineration of clinical waste since 1992, initially with the commissioning of the joint venture plant at Hope Hospital and then being responsible for all the operational activities within the group. John was previously employed as a mechanical engineer with British Coal. DAVID LEWRYPrincipal Transport Officer, Cheshire County Council Transport Co-ordination Service, Rivacre Business Centre, Mill Lane, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire David is responsible for developing public transport policy and implementing infrastructure projects throughout the County. The County's involvement in alternatively-fuelled vehicles goes back some years, and relates to its own vehicle fleet, as well as to other areas such as park and ride bus operation in Chester. Recent experience is primarily with LPG, with around 30 dual fuel petrol/LPG fleet cars and light vans, and 5 full-sized dedicated LPG park and ride buses. DEREK McCULLOCHDirector, Energy Management Services, Gateway House, Piccadilly South, Manchester. Derek is the Director of Energy Management Services, a business unit of Lancashire Ambulance Service NHS Trust since April 1995. He joined the North Western Regional Health Authority in 1987 as Assistant Regional Engineer : Energy Management and has over twenty years experience in both energy procurement and energy conservation. Energy Management Services currently provide a comprehensive range of services to over forty NHS Trusts and a growing number of private sector clients. Derek is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Institution of Gas Engineers. RICHARD PINKSenior Consultant, Oscar Faber Group Ltd, Lynnfield House, Church Street, Altrincham, Cheshire Richard joined Oscar Faber in 1961, working in the London, St Albans and Manchester Offices of the Group. In the early 90's he was responsible for the design of the Energy Centre for Terminal 2 at Manchester Airport incorporating a 10 MWe Combined Heat and Power facility, and later headed the site team witnessing the commissioning of the whole project. During his career, he has been responsible for the design of many boilerhouses generating steam, high and medium temperature hot water, and their associated heat distribution systems. Richard is currently Project Leader for the Oscar Faber team acting as client engineering advisors to the Central Manchester Healthcare and Manchester Children's Hospital NHS Trusts on the development of the MRI site. ANTHONY WILSONDirector of Advanced Technology, Oscar Faber Group Ltd., Upper Marlborough Road, St Albans, Hertfordshire Joining Oscar Faber in 1979, Anthony has extensive knowledge of the energy and environmental fields of work and specialises in computer modelling on the internal environment. Anthony is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers and a member of the Society of Lights and Lighting. Oscar Faber are currently appointed to assist the DETR in the preparation of the Consultation Paper - Proposals for Amending the Energy Efficiency Provisions of the Building Regulations. |
