present a one day conference on

STERILISATION & DECONTAMINATION OF MEDICAL DEVICES AND LINEN

to be held on

THURSDAY, 22ND JUNE 2000

in the

LECTURE THEATRE,
WRIGHTINGTON HALL CONFERENCE CENTRE,
WRIGHTINGTON HOSPITAL NHS TRUST
HALL LANE, APPLEY BRIDGE, WIGAN, LANCASHIRE

Recent Health Service Circulars (HSCs 1999/178 and 1999/179) have reinforced the emphasis of implementing existing policy and guidance on DECONTAMINATION OF MEDICAL DEVICES as well as introducing NEW ADVICE AND ACTIONS to reduce the RISK OF TRANSMISSION OF INFECTIOUS AGENTS.

Set against a Controls Assurance Framework (HSC 1999/123), NHS Trusts are required to implement BEST PRACTICE to manage and reduce risk and be subject to assessment of compliance with the current policy and guidance.

THIS CONFERENCE PROVIDES A REVIEW AND UPDATE ON POLICY AND GUIDANCE AND TAKES A LOOK AT THE PRACTICAL ISSUES OF IMPLEMENTING AND MANAGING THOSE REQUIREMENTS THAT ENABLE COMPLIANCE.

THE SEMINAR WILL BE OF SPECIAL INTEREST TO ESTATE AND FACILITIES MANAGERS, TSSU / CSSD / HSDU MANAGERS, WORKS ENGINEERS, STERILISER ENGINEERS, PROJECT ENGINEERS, HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICERS AND RISK MANAGERS.

The cost of attending the conference is £90.00 per person. This includes attendance at the conference, course handouts, coffee/tea on arrival, mid morning coffee/tea and biscuits, buffet luncheon and afternoon tea/coffee and biscuits.
